食堂 Shi Tang by Mahota Kitchen
The idea behind Shi Tang’s “casual canteen” dining concept is to create a menu of local home-style comfort food we can enjoy every day. Hearty “Tze Char” stir-fries, specialty dishes, fresh fish from our very own local Sea Farm, along with house-made pickles, sauces and desserts, these are just some of our favourite things.
Owing to Singapore’s rich heritage and location at the crossroads of the world, our comfort food showcases the beautiful flavours of many cultures (Chinese, Nyonya, Malay, Indian, Eurasian etc). We encourage our chefs to experiment boldly, to delight and surprise our customers each time they dine with us.

They use fresh fish from their own fish farm. The promo $9.90 steamed fish with 6 different sauces to choose from is a very good deal. They also have good $12.80 weekday lunch set.
Came here for dinner with friend. Nice, cosy and spacious restaurant. Good quality and healthy food. Service is good too. Am surprised it remains pretty quiet though it’s conveniently located at entrance to century square. Note to try their set lunch one day.
I had the steamed seabass with onion and ginger puree. Freshest fish I've had in a restaurant and very tasty! The price for such fresh produce is amazingly reasonable. Mahota is now the go-to lunch place for my colleagues.
Dropping a note of appreciation to the staff and kitchen. My family of 8 had our CNY Reunion Dinner at Mahota Kitchen on 11Feb, also to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I had some reservations about choosing a non Chinese ambience for our reunion dinner, but am so glad we did. The food was fresh, flavourings are clean and pleasant. We chose the set menu for 6 and another set for 2. Every dish served was well prepared and palatable. The staff and their service outdo the usual cramped chinese restaurants’ atmosphere by far. They were working very hard and quietly to keep the first seating happy, and getting all tables’ meals going to make room for the second seating. A very stressful situation. We had 2 children with us, and staff serving our table were patient and obliging. Kudo also to their manager who set a good example helping in clearing dishes too.
